This sketch kinda scared me at first, but I like the way it came together after all. Guess that's why they call it a "challenge" lol. The little corset and the lacey frame around it are digi images I had in my files. So cool the way you can size them to fit anywhere! tfl

Bluebird of Happiness SC273

Yesterday my friend, Amy, had a few friends over for a little stamping get-together. We made lots of neat stuff last night and I stayed over and this morning we did the Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge - SC273 - together. Here is mine. Isn't this little bluebird just adorable??!! Daisy Fairy MMSC46

This was a fun one, and worked perfectly for the fairy image I colored this weekend. At least, I think so. Hope you like it too. Lilac Memories - Multiple Challenge Card

On the weekends I try to spend my time with my dh, so I don't usually actually make projects, but we spend time surfing the net together or I'll sit in the living room with him while he's watching sports, and I'm always on the lookout for new challenges, or coloring some images that I've already stamped or printed. Some weekends, like this one, I find lots of challenges I'd like to do, so I write them all down, and then on Monday, try to create a project with as many of the challenges as I can. So...for example, this weekend I found 4 challenges, and combined with today's SCS TLC challenge, had 5 ideas to start with. I managed to do a card with all but one of them, so here is a card to cover 4 challenges:

My childhood memory inspiration is lilacs. My mother and my grandmother both had lilacs and I always loved them! Had them myself in Maine, but you can't grow them here in Florida. There is stamping on this card on the inside - "Smile" stamp with little daisies. The fairy image is digital.

Flower in Adversity WT262 MMSC45

Today's card is for 2 challenges:

1. Splitcoaststampers Ways to Use It Challenge - WT262, to make a card of encouragement and send it out today; and

2. Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge - MMSC45.

I used more of my homemade flowers and background paper that I made by cutting flowers with the Cricut and scattering them on white cs and spraying with 2 colors of Shimmer Mist. The background is cuttlebugged with one of my Asian embossing folders and the sentiment is computer generated. tfl

Flowery Get Well CC262 TLC264

This card is for Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge - CC262, and Try a New Technique Challenge - TLC264. I stamped the flower and colored it with Shimmers and stamped the sentiment. Cut out with Nesties, cut another scalloped oval and cuttlebugged it with Swiss Dots. Cuttlebugged my homemade DP with the Birds and Swirls folder. The DP was made by scattering flowers cut with my Cricut over a piece of white cs and spraying with Shimmer Mist. I used the Cricut flowers themselves for the center of my flower. tfl

Fairy Tale Spring F4A3 CTD83

The main image is from Dover Publishing. I cut it out with my Nesties and cut and cuttlebugged the mat, then mounted them on some Fairy Tale cs. I colored it with a combo of watercolor pencils, and my one copic...lol. Chalked around the image to give a little glow, then stamped the little sentiment on, added the little flower sticker, some rhinestones, Stickles, and here it is. tfl

Angel SC271

This card is for SC271 at Splitcoaststampers, found here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?p=16291462#post16291462.

I stamped and heat embossed the angel on vellum, cut her out, and mounted her on dp that looked like sky to me. Stamped "Angel" on white cs, and cut out with Nesties for my sentiment. Next layer is Core'dinations, then a piece of one of my favorite dps. In real life, it has a beautiful soft shimmer to it, with just a touch of sparkle. Added some rhinestones and a little Stickles, and voila! tfl

Butterfly Get Well CC261

This card is for Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge - CC261 - found here: http://http//www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=483230. I cut out the card with my Cricut (I've vowed to either start using the Cricut more or sell it, so hope you don't get sick of seeing them.) The cut design was not my original, but when I first started with the Cricut, I didn't realize I would be blogging, etc, so was not good at identifying where I got my files. So, if this is your design, just let me know, and I'd be happy to give you credit. I cuttlebugged the outside on Core'dinations whitewash, which had the melon color on the other side to show through the flowers. The sentiment is a sticker. Stamped the leaves inside and decorated my butterfly with Stickles and a fluorish stamp. I will be sending this card to Lindsey. tfl

Cards for Kids

My friend, Amy, and I got together the other day to make some cards. She saw, while checking out my blog, that I had been working on the Cards for Kids Drive, and she showed me these ATCs that she had been collecting. We thought they would be a perfect start to some cards for the children. So, we spent the whole day working on these. These are the ones that I did, and she did at least 10. So...along with the ones I already had done, we'll have quite a few to send in. I think it's great that we could recycle these and use them towards a cause. Let's Play WT260

This card is for the Ways to Use It Challenge - WT260 - at Splitcoaststampers, to make a "Let's Play" card, using something to do with games, puzzles or sports. I've had this puzzle travel map stamp forever, but rarely use it, so this was the perfect opportunity. I also used some leftover embellishments from a travel scrapbook I had made for my son. tfl

Midnight Stroll TLC262 SFYTT

This card is for the Cards for Kids drive found here: http://jennifermcguireink.typepad.com/.

I used the Technique Lovers Challenge - TLC262 - for my starting point. We were to make our main image panel without using Nesties. I used a round punch to cut out my digital image from "Softpencil", colored the image with watercolor markers and pencils, and used the sketch from a challenge - SFYTT - found here: http://http//iheart2stamp.com/ as my layout. Cuttlebugged the panels (top panel is made with alcohol inks, bottom panel is core'dinations) and sanded them to make it look like stars, added stickles for snow, and stickles and rhinestones for stars. The inside has silver stars stamped lightly. tfl
