Shea Butter Roses IC285

This card is for today's Splitcoaststampers Inspiration Challenge - IC285. I was inspired by the colors of the shea butter soap in the pic above my card. Beautiful colors! The soap is found here at the Spotted Moth. I used my whitewash core'dinations paper to make my cuttlebugged, sanded paisley bg and to make my flower, which was torn, shaped, cuttlebugged, sanded, and inked on the edges. Love making soft, feminine cards like this! tfl

Father's Day Potted Flowers

This card is for my DH for Father's Day. I used a wonderful digi image called "potting flowers digital stamp" from priscillastyles store, which can be found here: http://priscillastyles-store.blogspot.com/. The layout is this week's Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge - MMSC104 - which can be found here: http://priscillastyles.blogspot.com/

I printed the image twice and cut out the gloves and potted plant to pop up to give it dimension. Love the way it came out! Dirtied things up a bit to look like he just came from the garden.

This was a fun image to work with! My husband loves to garden and has been doing a LOT of it since we moved into our new home - and yes, (people have asked) that is our back yard in the background. But on the side he's built a beautiful rock garden and is working on the front now. So....this is perfect for him for Father's Day this year!

Oriental Elegance SC332

This card is for today's sketch challenge at Splitcoaststampers - SC332. This sketch just seemed perfect for it. The image is heat embossed with gold ep and then I used watercolor pencils and my aquapainter to color it.

I've had this image painted for quite some time. In fact, I was with my friend, Amy, and she had this SU stamp, which I don't have, and I stamped a few to color later. Since then I've moved and we've bought a new home, so it's been at least 8 or 9 months! Wow! She's coming to visit in a couple of weeks, and I am soooooo excited!

Happy Birthday Puppy

This card is for Splitcoaststampers Technique Lovers Challenge - TLC324 - to use colored embossing. I tried it on the little doggie and have to admit, I had to cheat a little after...it didn't really show up very well...think my markers are not good for this technique. I did, however, use my brayer on the happy birthday embossing folder with the opposite technique, and love the way it came out. I used Glossy Accents on the balloon, although it doesn't show up in the picture.
The sketch is FTL139 from http://cleanandsimplestamping.blogspot.com/2011/05/139.html.
The colors are red, orange and white from PDCC80 found here: http://theplaydatecafe.blogspot.com/2011/05/play-date-cafe-challenge-pdcc80.html

Hope for Deb Revisited

My friend, Deb, is still battling cancer...my sister says she just loves the cards that have been sent in the past, and has requested that we send some more to help cheer her up and know that she is not alone. Here's the email from my sister on Deb's behalf:

Good afternoon my dear friends,

It is with great sadness that I am writing you for a second year in a row for the "Do it for Deb" card campaign.

My dear friend Deb is still fighting a courageous battle with ovarian cancer and has been having a full year straight of treatments which has and is taking its toll on her mind, body, soul and spirit...as you can imagine!

She needs words of encouragement, not so much to speak to her illness, but just to say she is thought of and that we are cheering for her.

As I have stated before, none of us walk through this journey alone and she needs to know she is NOT alone we are all here supporting her, even if only in spirit.

Please send this email to as many friends and family that you can think of to participate in this campaign. It only takes a few moments of time and the cost of a stamp. Mail cards to the following address as soon as possible!

Deb Cole
c/o Kat Perry
11 Pleasant Drive
Minot, Maine 04258

I am eternally grateful for your willingness to write a few words of encouragement or send a card that I can pass along.

Love and gratitude,
Miss Kat

Again, thank you for your help! Big hugs, Val

Dewey Duck

This was a fun CAS card to make! Plus this little duck digi from WaxFruitCompany, which is free if you're a member of CDAC, and can be found here at the free digi challenge 22, reminds me of the white duck in our "Gang of 4" that live in our pond. What a cutie!
The color scheme is from today's Splitcoaststampers CAS117 color challenge - Sandy & Baby Blue Chocolates.
