Priscilla's Sunflower

Well, today is Bob's last day of work, and I'm supposed to be getting things ready for his retirement pool party that we're having tomorrow, but I was just so inspired by this beautiful sunflower and all the challenges that it fit, that I just had to start out my day making this card! I find that if I wait til later, I just don't get to it, so have to strike while the mojo is flowing, right??!! Anyway, here it is, and it fits these 3 challenges:

1. Color Challenge 3 - cdaccc3 - at Crafter Digital Art Center - green, yellow, cream, using this beautiful sunflower freebie that Priscilla so graciously gave us. Thanks so much, Priscilla! The challenge and freebie are found here: http://priscillastyles.ning.com/profiles/blogs/color-challenge-cdaccc3;

2. Stamp Simply #150 Challenge - ssnotime150 - using the same colors, found here: http://notimetostamp.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2010/07/29/stamp-simply-150-a-color-challenge/; and

3. Splitcoaststampers Free For All Challenge - F4A23 - side-swiped (decorate side or sides of card), found here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/free-all-f45/f4a23-side-swiped-7-29-10-a-t500607.html.

I printed the image 3 times, colored the bottom one with copics, the second one, colored top petals and fussy-cut for second layer, and third one cut out just center for layering. Layered them together and added distress stickles. The card base itself is Core'dinations sanded.

I loved making this card, and am glad I did it, but now gotta get to work!! tfl

Friends Forever MMSC64

This card is for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge - MMSC64 - found here: http://priscillastyles.blogspot.com/2010/07/midnight-madness-sketch-challenge-64.html.

Also polka dot challenge - THT060 - found here: http://treehousestamps.blogspot.com/2010/07/treehouse-thursday-challenge-060-seeing.html.

I used one of Priscilla's digis, which can be found as a freebie here at Crafters Digital Art Center: http://priscillastyles.ning.com/group/priscillastylesstore/forum/topics/priscillastyles-current. Isn't it cute??!! Paper-pieced the skirt for a sheer overlay that I decorated with diamond Stickles. Used silver metallic marker on the stand.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.

Retirement Card for my Hubby

This is a card I made for my husband's retirement party this Saturday. I scanned part of the inside of a card he gave me for my birthday last year and used it for the inside. Got a picture of a U-Haul trailer from an ad and imposed it. Also imposed the little puppy in the car as we will be taking Floppy with us on our cross-country move. Just realized I forgot to color in the white around the U-Haul to blend. Will do that tomorrow.
I used a sponge dauber and inks to stamp the front and letter stickers for the Happy Retirement sentiment. Happy birthday rubber stamp, and that's that. tfl

Birthday Cake in Window

This card is for 3 challenges:

1. Shelly's Images Sketch Challenge - cdacsc2 - found here: http://priscillastyles.ning.com/profiles/blogs/sketch-challenge-cdacsc2-1. The little birdies with Happy Birthday banner is a digi by Shelly Parker of Shelly's Images, found here: http://www.shellysimages.com/. Thanks, Shelly!

2. Splitcoaststampers Free For All Challenge - F4A22 - to use cool colors ( green, blue, purple) for a summer card or warm colors for a winter card, found here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/free-all-f45/f4a22-cool-summers-warm-winters-7-23-10-a-t499688.html

3. Theme Challenge - TD02 - at Tiffany Doodles, found here:
http://tiffanydoodles.blogspot.com/2010/07/tiffany-doodles-challenge-td02.html.

The birthday cake and shelf it's sitting on are rubber stamps from Hampton Art. Inside it says "Make A Wish". There is Glossy Accents on the cake plate and Stickles on the cake and candles. This was another fun card to make. tfl

Mermaid Beauty

This card was made with a beautiful image from Michelle Perkett Studio. This was so much fun to make! I used lots of my favorite things on it...a wonderful mermaid image, core'dinations paper, cuttlebugged and sanded, glitter paper for her paper-pieced tail and scalloped nestability, watercolor pencils, paper flower with glittery brad, Stickles and dew drops. Wow...fun, fun, fun!

It is for multiple challenges:

1. Cowgirl's Sunday Challenge found here: http://cowgirlssundaystampenchallenge.blogspot.com/. They're having an "Anything Goes" challenge this coming Sunday, July 25th, which is being sponsored by Michelle Perkett Studio, found here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/michelleperkett. Please be sure to stop by Sunday and join in the challenge. Regretfully, because of lots of personal things in my life, such as my husband retiring July 30th, getting our house ready for rental, and moving to CA and finding a new home there, I had to resign from the DT team, so this is the last card I made for them.

2. Gingersnap Creations Color Challenge - GC60 - using shades of blue, found here: http://gingersnapcreations.blogspot.com/2010/06/gc60-color-challenge-shades-of-blue.html;

3. Crafters Digital Art Center - cdasc1 - sketch challenge, found here: http://priscillastyles.ning.com/profiles/blogs/sketch-challenge-cdacsc1-and;

4. Crafters Digital Art Center - cdacec1 - embellishment challenge, found here: http://priscillastyles.ning.com/profiles/blogs/embellishment-challenge; and

5. EtsyInspired Challenge - EIC97 - found here: http://etsyinspired.blogspot.com/2010/07/etsyinspired-97-mermaids-tear-jewelry.html - inspiration from Mermaid's Tears Jewelry, found here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/MermaidsTearsJewelry .

Thanks for stopping by. I'm afraid for the next few months, my blogging will probably be pretty irregular, at least til we get settled in our new home. Hope you'll check back every now and then. Don't wanna lose ya! Hugs to all!

Birthday Card for my DH

Bob's birthday is Friday, and he's retiring July 31st (retirement card coming soon), so the Celebrate Life theme seemed perfect! I love these papers from Graphic 45, and, of course, the Core'dinations paper sanded! This was a fun card to make, and I'm pretty sure he'll like it.

I'm entering it into a challenge to make a masculine card with sentiment at http://sentimentalsundays.blogspot.com/2010/07/challenge-12-for-men.html

Please Don't Give Up on Me!!

Hi,

Thanks for stopping by. Sorry my posts are quite erratic at the moment. My dear Mother-in-law passed away last Friday, and this week is very busy with arrangements, visitation, funeral, etc. Hopefully, things will get a little more back to normal next week, at least until the end of the month when my DH retires...hehe. Seriously, lots going on then...retirement party, making offer on house in CA, selling stuff, getting ready to move, and then the move itself. So....please bear with me, and if you're a follower, don't give up on me. I love to have you visit! I will at least have a post on Sundays for Cowgirl-Up Digital Stamp'en Ranch.

Hugs,
Val

Well, here's little Ashtyn from http://www.cowgirupdigitalstampenranch.com/. Isn't she just the cutest little cowgirl you've ever seen?! She was lots of fun to color. Of course, I had to add some glitter to her jeans and belt, and little star earrings! My kinda girl! hehe

I used an adorable heart digi I got for free from D2D Digi Stamps - http://www.designed2delight.com/, and some elements from my Scrapbook Factory Deluxe program.

The challenge this week at http://cowgirlssundaystampenchallenge.blogspot.com/ is sponsored by http://www.craftyribbons.com/. These ribbons are gorgeous, and a picture of them can be found on the challenge blog. You can win these beautiful ribbons, plus 2 hand-drawn images by CJ; and
