Lady of Fashion in White on Black WT216

This card is for Splitcoaststampers' Ways to Use It Challenge #WT216#, which was to use black cs. This was perfect for my silhouette stamps! But instead of doing black on white for the silhouette, I wanted to do white on black. Used detail white emobossing powder and heat embossed the silhouette. The rest is pretty much explains itself. tfl

Little Miss Daisy May Friends CAS12

This is my card for SCS Clean and Simple Challenge (CAS12), using bits of ribbon. I used a very short piece of lavender satin ribbon for a little pillow for little Miss Daisy May and her little doggie to sit on. The dp's are wallpaper samples. The embossed strip is leftover from one of my favorite pre-embossed papers.

The Birds WT215

OMG! I've titled this card "The Birds", because the end result is probably about 50% composed of things to fix my bright ideas that went wrong!!! What a nightmare!!! lol

Anyway, the card is for SCS Ways to Use It Challenge #WT215#, using only white cardstock. First, I debossed the white cs with the flower cuttlebug folder and then embossed it with the birds folder. Didn't come out as well as I thought it might, so to add color and emphasize the debossed images, I decided to paint some of the leaves and flowers. Well, made a little mess of that...so...cut out the rectangle with my coluzzle. Then the inside looked too plain white for my sentiment, so...used blue shimmers to watercolor inside...that was VERY slow work with my little paint brush!! Then...ok, this doesn't look that bad...now, here's the good part...stamped my sentiment UPSIDE DOWN!!! So...then I had to cut the card in half and tape it together right, cause I didn't want to have to do the whole window cutting thing again...so on and so on! LOL

Hope you like it anyway, and that I didn't bore you to death! But thanks for letting me vent! Jeesh!

Cute Daisy May SC225

This card is my entry for SCS Sketch Challenge (SC225). I used a digital stamp which was a hand-drawn "cute daisy may designs" image done by Linnie Carter, which you can find here: http://www.helpinghandstemplates.co.uk/products.php?category_id#35. I just love these little images, and think they go wonderfully with my favorite Basic Gray porcelain papers! I colored her with watercolor pencils and blended, then cut her and her little friend out and popped them up on pop-dots. The cuttlebugged panels were done with coredinations paper and sanded. I love how this came out. Hope you like it too. tfl

Spring Thoughts CC215, Caardvarks

Today, I combined challenges: SCS CC215 color challenge, and Caardvarks "Trees A Crowd" challenge. I cut multiple tree branch images with my Cricut using the Storybook cartridge, piled them up to make a tree. Then I stamped a tree trunk from a SeeD's set and paper-pieced it all together, using markers to make it all come together. I also did some chalking around the tree with gray chalk. I then used pink stickles to make little pink blossoms on the tree. On the side, I placed a brad in the middle of that section and wrapped silver cording around it. The background paper and the tree trunk are made of recycled wallpaper samples. Hope you like it. tfl

Thinking of You SKEEM IC176

Here is my card for today's SCS Inspiration Challenge (IC176), using the website SKEEM for our inspiration. I was inspired by this piece: http://www.skeemshop.com/SkeemShop/product_detail.cfm/c/42/product/Sea%20Spray. Used my cricut to make the little black fluorish and rub-ons for the white flowers. tfl

Birthday - Maya LSC216

Well, this was quite a challenge (LSC216) at SCS today! We were to use a wheel (I don't have a stamp wheel!!!), 1 image stamp, 1 sentiment stamp, and 1 embellishment. Well, after trying a few things with my brayer which didn't work...I finally thought of something that did...I stuck 3-D foam stickers onto the brayer and inked them up with a 3-color stamp pad and proceeded to roll away in all different directions on my white cardstock to make my background panel. It actually turned out kinda pretty, I think. So...since my granddaughter had such a good time playing with these foam stickers last time she was here, decided to make this into her next birthday card. The rest is pretty self-explanatory. tfl

Birdsong, WT214

Here is my submission for SCS Ways to Use It Challenge (WT214), using a frame on your card. My frame is my birdcage cut from my cricut. I used wallpaper samples for the cage and the background paper inside and out. I stamped the little bird and set him on the pirch. Brads in the silk flowers, and voila! tfl

Rustic Lilies SC224

Here is my entry for SCS Sketch Challenge (SC224). I used a digital stamp, which I colored with shimmers. I used paper from a wallpaper sample book for everything except for the creamy caramel base and matting, and, of course, the paper the image is printed on. I chalked around the image to make a soft background for the flowers and colored the butterfly twice and popped one up over the other for motion. I then popped the whole main panel up on pop dots. Hope you like it. tfl

Porcelain Rose SC223

This card is for SCS Sketch Challenge (SC223). I love this sketch, and thought it was perfect to use my favorite papers by Basic Grey. I just adore this Porcelain collection! I heat embossed the rose and used different cuttlebug folders on each layer and popped the top 2 squares up with pop dots. Added some stickles around the smallest square and brads with some stickles on top and the little dragonfly. On the inside I put a little of the green swirly border and a little strip of the mellow moss just on the right edge. tfl

Silhouette Sisters SSS08

I did this card for a sketch challenge found here: http://mbryt1.blogspot.com/2009/04/so-sketchy-sunday-8.html (SSS08). This was originally going to be for the CAS challenge at SCS too, but by the time it was finished, I wasn't sure it qualified.

Flowers for A Lovely Lady

I created this card today for my husband's aunt, who is a lovely lady and just turned 99 years old in Lockport, NY. I used today's SCS TLC215 challenge for the layout and the colors from STVCC7. Inside it will simply say "We love you very much, Aunt Ang!".

I cut the flower pot , the little garden stake and the flowers out with my cricut and Walk In A Garden cartridge and cuttlebugged and stamped them. I used a mesh background stamp on the biggest flowers, and just stamped the pad directly onto the centers. I used some leaves from a little bucket of bubble bath flowers and put little dots of stickles on them for dew drops.

I like the way this came out. Hope you like it too. tfl

Birthday Metal WT212

Here is a card I made for my son's birthday and also for the SCS Ways to Use It Challenge (WT212). I used Reynolds Release foil and ran it through the cuttlebug #hint: Reynolds Release even repels ATG glue...good thing I had some Tombow metal glue...phew!). I printed the guitar on my computer using my Scrapbook Deluxe program, heat embossed it, and made the "SON" tag with my Spellbinders tag die coverd with foil and an alphabet stencil. This card was fun to make. Hope you like it. tfl
