Welcome to the Neighborhood

This card is for 2 challenges at Splitcoaststampers - TLC362 (Double Vision) and CAS155, inspiration from this picture:

Started out with a barely banana card base, which I dry embossed. Then I used Stampin' Up pastels and cotton ball to color my sunset background on white watercolor paper, then stamped my evergreen trees from Stampin' Up's Plant Hope set in Mellow Moss and Handsome Hunter. Over that is a little house I cut with a cute little QuicKutz die. Drew the "geese" in and popped my window die up over it all. The "Welcome..." sentiment was done on the computer, and inside it says "to the neighborhood!". tfl

Birthday Stars

This card is for today's Splitcoaststampers Featured Stamper Challenge - FS260 - The featured stamper is Shirley Quarry (WannaBCre8tive). The card from her gallery that I picked to Case is here:

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/583408?&cat=500&ppuser=78347. I changed the background to a gold metal sheet dry embossed with the happy birthday embossing folder. The stars are a different die-cut, and in different colors. Also flipped the design sideways and changed the corners and colors. Thanks for the great inspiration, Shirley, and you have a wonderful gallery!

Other challenges entered:

Sentimental Sundays - challenge #87 - dry embossing; and

Get Well Piggy

Yesterday my friend asked me to make a Get Well card for her friend who likes pigs...well, didn't have a pig stamp, so found this cute little piggie image online, and went from there. Did the main panel in my Scrapbook Deluxe program, fitting the sentiment around the little piggie. Stamped the little flowers up over him and under the sentiment with a stamp from Stampin' Up's Because I Care set. Added a polka dot dp panel under this, then a punched lace strip, which I then added little pearls onto. Mounted all this on kraft cardstock, and rounded the corners. Inside it says "Wishing you a quick and speedy recovery" which is underlined once more with the little flower stamp. I think it came out kinda cute...hope she likes it too! tfl
I'm entering it into these 2 challenges:
1. Sweet Stampin' - animals; and
2. Simon Says Stamp - anything goes.

Sympathy and Prayers

This card is for today's Splitcoaststampers Inspiration Challenge - IC321- a site called Everything Turquoise. My inspiration is from this picture of a beautiful duvet and sham set, and the orchid on the table beside it: http://www.everythingturquoise.com/2011/12/mia-duvet-sham-set.html.

I sprayed a piece of white cardstock with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Patina and then dry embossed it with an embossing folder from Darice. Then I sanded the embossing to bring out the white design. The shimmer doesn't show up in the picture, but in real life, it's quite lovely.

The stamp is from Hero Arts...it's called "Potted Plant"...it's one of my favorites. I stamped it with white pigment ink and heat embossed it with detail white embossing powder on teal dp.

The sentiment, which reads "sending sympathy and prayers..." on the outside, and "...to heal your heart." on the inside is from Stampin' Up's "Petite Pairs" set.

Got the pretty white polka dot ribbon in a shipment of all white ribbon from

Really Reasonable Ribbon Club...want to thank you ladies at SCS for turning me on to this club through a forum mentioned in the newsletter a while back. Love the quality of these ribbons...no, I don't work for them, just a very satisfied customer!!

Also entering this card to these challenges:
DYSU#56 - Ribbons;

Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge 92 - 4 layers; and

Stampin' for the Weekend Challenge 2 - embossing.

Poppies on Parade

This card is for today's Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge - CC359 - basic black, lucky limeade and poppy parade.
I used a pre-colored digital image I got a long time ago as a freebie from

The dessert option for the color challenge was to use 2 different embossing folders, so I used 2 border ef's. The ribbon inspiration came from Splitcoaststampers DINSPO112 inspiration challenge.

Also entering this card in a Anything Goes Challenge #59 at http://anythingchallenge.blogspot.com/ - theme is To the One I Love.

Best Wishes to the New Mr & Mrs

This card is for 4 challenges:
1. Splitcoaststampers' TLC361 - Inspired by Beleek Pottery -
negative effect with embossing folders;

2. Pile It On #4 - Add lace;

3. Sentimental Sundays Challenge #86 - die cuts and a sentiment; and

4. Cardabilities Sketch #47.

I used a Darice embossing folder for my negative effect embossing technique on white watercolor paper with barely banana ink and a barely banana card.

The dress is a new die cut I got from Darice, which was cut and then dry embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder. The ribbon belt on the dress is highlighted with Diamond Stickles, which is also around the sentiments, which are stamped in gold metallic ink with Petite Pairs sentiments from Stampin' Up. Popped up the sentiments with pop dots and the dress over some white lace.

It was difficult to get good photos today as I usually take them outside on the deck, but it is very blustery outside and I had to take them inside, but hope you like it. It's really pretty in real life, at least I think so...~.~

Hoppy Birthday

This card was a lot of fun to make. I used 4 challenges as inspiration:
1. FS259 - Featured Stamper challenge at Splitcoaststampers - Inspiration from Kim Hahn's gallery (LUVFLOWERS) - she has great cards and my inspiration was this one: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1865448?&cat=500&ppuser=85060. I used the layout, with a few changes, changed the stamp, colors and embellishments. The frog images are from a new digital set by priscillastyles, which can be found here: http://priscillastyles-store.blogspot.com/. The sentiment was done on my computer.
2. C4C120 - Crazy 4 Challenges - child's birthday card;
3. Challenge #75 - embossing - at 2sisterschallengeblog; and
4. Speedy Fox & Friends Challenge 91 - birthday - at Mark's Finest Papers.
I colored the froggies with Copics and dry embossed and sanded the core'dinations brick wall the froggie is sitting on and popped it up on pop dots, so his little feet are hanging over the wall.
Hope you like it as much as I do. tfl

Anniversary Hearts

I needed an anniversary card, so for my inspiration I used the following challenges:

1. Sketch challenge at Simon Says Stamps challenge blog;

2. Free 4 All challenge - F4A100 - at Splitcoaststampers - to use at least 2 hearts; and

3. DYSU#55 - use patterned paper - at http://doyoustackup.blogspot.com/.

First, I stamped my doily from Stampin' Up's Delicate Doilies stamp set onto my patterned and die-cut card base with white pigment ink, and heat embossed it with detail white embossing powder. Then I stamped my heart stamp on off-white cardstock and cut it out. Popped it up on top of the stamped doily with pop-dots. Added the little love bird charm, some red rhinestone flowers, heart ribbon and my Happy Anniversary sentiment. tfl

Friendship Tree

This card is for 3 challenges:
1. Splitcoaststampers' CAS153 - Sketch;
2. Splitcoastampers' TLC316 - twine; and
3. Color Throwdown Challenge - CTD174 - soft sky, daffodil delight, river rock and soft suede.
First, I used pastels and a cotton ball to make the 3 color blocks, using die cut negatives as stencils. Then I stamped the tree and sentiment from Innovative Stamp Creations' "Birch Tree Paintings" stamp set. Added twine and button, and rounded the outside corners. On the inside, I stamped some grass and butterfly from the same set, and a sentiment which says, "May your day be as bright as mine is when I think of you!", which is from a set of Friendship sentiments I got at Michaels a long time ago...sorry, don't know who made them. tfl

Hope Butterfly Garden

The (Poly) World is Pretty Amazing

This card was inspired by the picture found here: http://www.polyvore.com/poly_world_is_pretty_amazing/set?id=41934918

It's for today's Inspiration challenge - IC319 - at Splitcoaststampers.

I used a sketch from The Sweet Stop Challenge Blog - SSS141.

I also used the Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge 90 at http://marksfinestpapers.blogspot.com/ to use a border punch.

The stamp is from Just Rite. I heat embossed it in detail gold, though it doesn't show up in the pic. Looks very nice in real life.

Bird Song

This card is for 4 challenges:
1. Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge - SC367;
2. Party Time Tuesday - PTT#50 - Birds;
3. 2 Sisters Challenge Blog - Challenge #73 - Things with Wings; and
4. Simon Says Stamps Challenge - Spots &/or Stripes.
My base card is Kraft, the blue background panel is Core'dinations, cuttlebugged and then sanded. The music panel is from a My Mind's Eye pad, and the birds and sentiment are from Glitz Designs "vintage blue stamps" set. The buttons are a couple of antique buttons I had in my stash, that, even though they don't match, I think they go together really well, and I love them on this card. I "stitched" them with bakers twine, which I separated in half. tfl

Fashionable Silhouette

This card is for 3 challenges:
1. Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge - CC357 - blushing bride, riding hood red, baja breeze - I have to say...It really was a "challenge" incorporating the red in with the blushing bride and baja breeze on this card!;
2. Mojo Monday - MOJO223 - sketch; and
3. The Shabby Tea Room - TSTR96 - Inspiration challenge - photo and sewing items (ribbon).
I used mostly Graphic 45 papers for the background panels. The sentiment is computer-generated so I could get the right shape, and the silhouette is from a set of silhouette stamps I have called "Hearts in Touch - #26 HIT Ladies Hats Silhouettes." I stamped her with black pigment ink and heat embossed her with clear embossing powder. tfl

I cased a card from amyfitz1 Splitcoaststampers gallery found here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1935687?&what=allfields&condition=and&si=TLC317.
The vintage typewriter image is from Glitz Designs Vintage Blue Stamps set. I stamped it in chocolate chip ink and colored the roses with Copics. The sentiment is computer generated. I did cheat a little by not using real newspaper. The "newspaper" on my card, as well as the rose panel, comes from a My Mind's Eye pad I just love.

Well, now that the Holidays are over, I think it's time to Relax, Refresh and Recharge! So...to start that process, here is my first card of the New Year! This card is for 3 challenges:
