Celebrate TLC209

OK...here's my entry for SCS TLC209...using rubber bands to stamp. Let me just say, I should have listened to myself this morning when I said I wouldn't do today's challenge, because I didn't really have time! lol Anyway, couldn't resist the challenge, and a challenge it certainly was. Hope you like the end result. Not sure myself. tfl

Roses on Lace IC168

Here is my submission for today's SCS Inspiration Challenge (IC168). What a great site for inspiration!! Wow! Here is the link to a rug I used for my inspiration for this card. http://www.flutterclutter.com/shop/shop_detail_popup.php?product=513

I cut out part of a lace doily for my vase and background flowers and stamped my rose bouquet stamp 3 times and cut them out and popped them up with pop dots. Lots of stickles...I like the way it made the vase look like glass!! tfl

Gingham Butterfly Garden LSC208

Well, scrapbooking is coming along nicely, so...couldn't resist making a card for today's SCS Limited Supply Challenge (LSC208)...using green designer paper and only 2 embellishments. We were supposed to use no more than 3 layers...think I cheated a little there...just didn't work right...sorry!! tfl

AZ 2008 Vacation Scrapbook Final Page WT206

Here is my entry for today's SCS WT206 challenge - to use stripes in our project. I have taken a break from making cards to catch up on my scrapbooking. I made this layout Tuesday. It is from the last day of our AZ 2008 vacation. My dh had been sick the whole time, so the last page is made up of get well cards from his sister and myself. tfl

Anniversary Roses, CC206 and SC215

Here is my entry for CC206, Rose Red, Kiwi Kiss, More Mustard. I am also entering this in last sketch challenge (SC215) as I didn't get to do one last week. Been working on reorganizing my scrap room and started catching up on scrapbooking that I've been neglecting because of card challenges. Rooms done, lots of scrapbooking caught up and I still wanted to do today's color challenge, so...here it is!! tfl

Hope for Deb Update

I got this email from Deb and wanted to share to thank all who sent cards:

Hello Valerie and Bob,

I apologize for the delay in contacting you about the wonderful and very generous things you both have done to ease my trip through this cancer. Your cards are absolutely beautiful and the book that Bob passed along has given me a good insight into the positive effects attitude and perseverence (hope) can have.I have been overwhelmed with the number of cards that have arrived and warm wishes that your web site had initiated and have been at a loss as to how to respond to all these wonderful people.

This past weekend Kathy and I did a "photo shoot" of us, the many cards and good wishes that have come to me, which I've attached to this e-mail. We especially enjoy and have a good cry over the cards as they come, which we read together. It is very healing and heartwarming to do.

I am now about half way through my chemo and feeling comfortable about readying myself for the next rounds....I am not very e-mail/internet saavy, but wanted to know if you could post a response and maybe even the picture to the website you use for the e-mails? I wanted to let everyone who has sent in cards to know that I truely appreciate them and that they are really providing a very personal help to my recovery.

Thanks again for your wishes and prayers,

Love,Deb

Valentine for Bob 2009

First of all, let me apologize for the pic being sideways. Sometimes blogger does this...and I can't seem to figure out how to fix it. If anyone knows, I'd appreciate some advice. Thanks.
Here is my challenge card for WT205 at SCS, using fabric. This is a valentine card for my dh. Third one I made for him before being satisfied. The heart is made of felt, which I cuttlebugged. The embossing was much more pronounced before I peeled off the backing to expose the adhesive, but it is still there. If I do this again, I will leave the backing on and glue the whole thing onto the card. tfl

MIA

Hi there friends...
My son and grandkids are coming to visit from Maine tomorrow, so...between getting ready for them, and the SuperBowl (had party here)...haven't had time to do any cards. The family will be here til Sunday, so not sure if I'll be able to play til at least Monday. It will be great to get to spend some time with them though! It's been a while. Just wish the weather was a little warmer for them...another cold front coming in. But...compared to what they've been having there in Maine, I'm sure it will seem quite nice! Ciao for now.
