Get Well Soon

Well, I've always loved the Stampin' Up Thoughts and Prayers set, and I finally gave in and bought it. This card is for a friend who is having surgery next week. I am entering it into 2 challenges as well.

The colors don't show up correctly. It's really Close to Cocoa and Sage Shadow, colors inspired by the Etsy Inspired Challenge - EIC114 - mine was a beautiful seafoam bracelet found here: http://www.etsy.com/listing/52277667/seafoam-bracelet-gemstones-and-silver.

The other inspiration was the Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge - SC307 - and WT297 - to use brown - found here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com.

2 Cards from SU Workshop

These 2 cards are from a Stampin Up workshop at my new friend and demonstrator's house - thanks, Yolanda - had a great time and these cards are beautiful, although I can't take credit for the design. They are lovely, though, aren't they? Just wanted to share them anyway. tfl

Cards for Kids

These are the last 2 cards for the 4th round of the Cards for Kids Drive - package went out yesterday with 13 total - 1 for each child. I just love making cards for this cause. If you've never heard of it, check it out here: http://jennifermcguireink.typepad.com/my_weblog/cards-for-kids-round-4.html.

SU Ornament Card

Yesterday I went to a workshop at my new SU demonstrator's house here in California, and met some wonderful people and had a great time! I had to leave before the end of the workshop, so Yolanda kindly gave me the package she had to make some little tags for Christmas. I used one of the cute ornaments to make this card today.

White Christmas

This card is for a challenge at Simon Says Stamp, to make an (Almost) All White project - found here: http://simonsaysstampschallenge.blogspot.com/2010/11/simon-says-are-you-all-white.html. I recycled a Christmas card from last year for the snowflake bg, adding the white sparkly panel in back of the tree, and of course the embossed christmas tree. The little white button seemed perfect, and then I added a few little pearls to the tree.
tfl

Thru the Window

This card is for Splitcoaststampers F4A37 challenge, to create a project with an image that has a tail, found here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/free-all-f45/f4a37-tail-waggin-greetings-11-5-10-a-t511107.html. These little birdies (a digi from imag-e-nation) sure fit that challenge, and I used the "simple frame" technique found here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/simpleframe.
I made it look like you're looking out a window and there is snow piled up on the windowsill outside.

Lovebirds WT293

I made this card for my dh. We're dealing with all the red tape and hassles to get our dream home here in CA, and I wanted to make him feel better this morning, and assure him that we're in this together and things will work out for the best one way or another as long as we have each other!

I took my inspiration from the Splitcoaststampers Ways to Use It Challenge - WT293 - to use fabric on our card, found here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/ways-use-f46/wt293-fabric-10-21-10-a-t509644.html. My fabric is the beautiful ribbon/lace I got here: http://notimetostamp.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/ribbon-for-sale/

The digi stamp is from Stamp-n-doodle. Their website is here: http://www.stamp-n-doodle.com/. I colored it with Copics and watercolor pencils.

The background dp is from a paper stack Amy gave me as a going away present last time we were together in Florida. Isn't it gorgeous???!!! Thanks, Amy! I miss you!

Thanks for looking!!

CC291 and MMSC74 for Cards for Kids

Here is a card for Splitcoaststampers CC291 and Midnight Madness Challenge - MMSC74 - for Cards for Kids. Still working with limited supplies in my temporary home. tfl

I'm Baaaack....at least partially!

Hi there! Thanks for checking in! We finally got moved to CA, although we're staying in a temporary place right now. I don't have all my crafting supplies, so my cards will be kinda cryptic for a while, but figure this is a good time to work on the "Cards for Kids" campaign, since they have to be kept fairly simple anyway. However, I can start off with 3 cards that I made with Amy before I left. Just haven't been able to post them before. Here they are. I sure miss that girl!

Goodbyes and New Beginning

Well, we moved out of our house Thursday, packed up our little 4X8 U-Haul, hitched it to the back of our car and came to my friend Amy's house - thanks again, Amy!! Bob's son's wedding was today, so we had the rehearsal dinner last night, wedding today, which was lovely, and now we're back at Amy's. Leaving tomorrow morning for our trip to CA...Bob, me, our little dog, Floppy, in the back seat, and our little U-Haul. Still haven't found the house we want, so we're staying in an Extended Stay place til we find it. Hope it doesn't take too long, but we know what we want and we're not going to settle! Hopefully this will be our last move. Wish us luck, and when we finally get settled, I hope to be back to my crafting and blogging. Thanks for checking in, and stay tuned. I will be back! Big Hugs!

Inspiration & Moving Progress

OMG! If you'd like to see a beautiful card, go to Joan Ervin's Splitcoaststampers entry for today's Technique Lovers Challenge here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1794452!!! This is one of the most beautiful cards I've ever seen!!! I soooooo wish I could play today! My mind is just going crazy with the things I could do with this technique!!! But...right now I'm sitting on an air mattress with my little netbook, most of my crafting supplies sitting in a box in a closet, as we are moving...oh well, I'll just soak up great ideas from you and all the other talented crafters out there until I can stamp again! I did do 3 cards with my friend, Amy, a couple weeks ago, but haven't had time to take pics and upload. Had the big moving sale this weekend (very successful, thank God!), so maybe I can get them up here before we actually move. Thanks for stopping by. I WILL BE BACK!!! ~.~

Birthday Card for Gary WT282 CPS178

This is a birthday card for my brother, Gary in California. He LOVES old cars...moreso classics from 50s/60s, but I think he'll like this too. I used a panel from my Graphics45 dp as my main image and a key sticker. The card base is actually a card that my husband received (love to recycle). Loved the flap with the brads. Used that and covered rest in various cardstocks, including the core'dinations cuttlebugged and sanded panel. The piercing is for today's Splitcoaststampers Ways to Use It Challenge - WT282 (stick it - use pins and needles or sticks, either as elements on your card, or to pierce), found here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/ways-use-f46/wt282-stick-8-5-2010-a-t501372.html. The layout is a sketch challenge - CPS178 - from Card Positioning Systems, found here: http://cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/2010/08/cps-178-part-1.html.

Happy Birthday Chaz

This is a card for our son-in-law, Chaz. When I saw the Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge today - SC292 - I thought, OMG! that is weird!!! (no offense to the creator), I don't think I'm going to try that one! lol But, I turned it sideways, and knowing I had to make a birthday card, the candle idea came to me. Well, just so happens I had these cute digi candles by gtc-crafty corner, which is here: http://gtc-craftycorner.blogspot.com/. So, I put three of them together and scewed them to fit the design, colored with copics, found the make a wish sentiment (sorry, can't remember where I got that...if anyone knows, please tell me and I'll give credit here), cuttlebugged the core'dinations cardstock, sanded it, and put it all together. Some Stickles, and there you have it! Nice cheery birthday card for a guy! Hope he likes it, and that you do to!
I used the colors from Color Throwdown - CTD104, which can be found here: http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/2010/08/color-throwdown-104.html.

Glass Flowers MMTPT105 CC282 CAS78 SSS67

This card was inspired by the beautiful digital image by priscillastyles. She gave this image away to members of her group at Crafters Digital Art Center, found here: http://priscillastyles.ning.com/group/priscillastylesstore.

The sentiment is a freebie from TLC Creations, found here: http://createwithtlc-createwithtlc.blogspot.com/.

I used 4 different challenges to design my card:

1. Splitcoaststampers Teapot Tuesday Challenge - MMTPT105 - found here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/teapot-tuesdays-f260/mmtpt105-~-petticoats-bloomers-tea-its-penelope-blossum-bea-t501075.html;

2. Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge - CC282 - found here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/color-combinations-f43/cc282-blushing-riding-expresso-8-03-10-a-t501079.html;

3. Splitcoaststampers Clean and Simple Challenge - CAS78 - found here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/clean-simple-cards-f239/cas78-ways-use-polka-dots-t500940.html; and

4. The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge Blog - SSS67 - found here: http://sweetstopsketches.blogspot.com/.

I used to have some glass flowers, and this image reminded me of them, so after coloring the vase and flowers with copics, I added glossy accents and stickles to make them look like glass flowers. I love the way this came out...hope you do too! tfl

Moonlighting MMSC65

When Bob and I sat down to read the newspaper yesterday, my eye was instantly drawn to the photo at right, and my mind said "CARD!!!!!" hehe I know, kinda scary, but here's my card, inspired by that photo.

I used the sketch from Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge - MMSC65 - which I found in the Sneak Peek section at priscillastyles. Love that she gives us a sneak peek so we can use it when we're inspired! The challenge is now up here: http://priscillastyles.blogspot.com/2010/08/midnight-madness-sketch-challenge-65.html.

The bird on the wire image is a freebie from the "deliciousdoodles" group at Crafters Digital Art Center. You can find it here: http://priscillastyles.ning.com/group/deliciousdoodles. I used my Scrapbook Factory Deluxe program to arrange 2 of them and make the "moonlighting" title (Bob's idea, by the way, isn't he clever??!!). Then made a mask with post-its for the moon and over the title, sprayed with Glimmer Mist, then dried with heat gun. Matted on black glitter paper and doily. Mounted on some of my favorite dp, black-white polka dotted ribbon and bow, and Voila!!! Moonlighting! tfl
