Here's my entry for today's SCS Limited Supplies Challenge (LSC205). The theme was "clean and simple". I got this cute birthday set from Inkadinkadoo yesterday at Michael's. Seemed perfect for this challenge. I wanted to add ribbons and more "embellishment", but slapped my hands away from it to keep it "clean and simple" lol. I did put little beads on for decoration on the cupcake, and paper-pieced some vellum for the cupcake holder and added a couple more little heart flowers to it, since the ones on the vellum were spaced too far apart. Hope you like it. tfl

Time for the Bubbly, WT203
Here's my entry for today's SCS Ways to Use It Up Challenge (WT203). We were to do something relating to alcohol...like alcohol inks, or such or "theme-related". Since I didn't have any alcohol inks or whatever, I went with the theme. I used a lot of shimmering pearls on this layout and lots of bubble embossing on the bubbly paper. Look close...she is holding a glass of champagne...hehe. tfl

CC203
These are my entries for SCS Color Challenge CC203, garden green, baja breeze and pacific point. I started out with version 1 with the patterned paper on the bottom, and my dh stopped by to get his work phone and said he thought it would look better without the patterned paper on the bottom, so...since I wasn't really sure myself, I took it off and replaced it with a sentiment. Still not sure...what do you think? Sorry about version 2 being sideways...sometimes Blogger does this and I can't seem to change it. Jeesh!! tfl

Camelia Show LSC204
Here is my entry for SCS Limited Supplies Challenge (LSC204), using black card base to make out image pop. Perfect for my continuation of the note card box I made yesterday. This is a photo we took of a beautiful rose at the Leu Garden camelia show last weekend. There were tables full of the most gorgeous camelias, but this rose was outside in the rose garden!!! Went nuts with the camera!! lol tfl

Butterfly Garden, WT202
Here is my entry for SCS Ways to Use It Challenge (WT202). Altering pattern paper.
Sunday my dh and I went to a camelia show at Leu Gardens here in Orlando, FL. We got many beautiful pictures of magnolias and roses, and on our way out to the parking lot, we were looking at these beautiful orange flowers growing on the fence, and a butterfly came along and posed for us. This ended up being one of our favorite photos. I printed it and used it for my patterned paper. I then cuttlebugged it along with a piece of tangerine tango SU paper and used the combo to decorate a lime green card box that I had made a couple of weeks ago to present notecards in for gifts. I printed again and cut out the butterfly on a piece of black paper so he would stand out and made him dimensional. It was hard to photograph the embossing and still get a good shot of the photo, but you get the idea. tfl

Request for Help
Hi Friends,
I received the following email from my sister, Kat, requesting support for her friend, Deb. I know Deb myself, and she is a very sweet lady, and certainly deserving of all the support she can get. A few minutes of our time could be very valuable in helping to lift her spirits and bring her strength. Here is Kat's email. Please take a minute to read it, and if you can send a card, it would be very much appreciated. Use "hopefordeb" as keyword if you'd like to upload it to SCS. And if you'd like to email me a copy, I'd love to see what you send. My email address is: vampme3@yahoo.com. Above is the card I am sending. She loves antiques, and this reminds me of her style.
*****************************************
Good afternoon enchanting women of the universe! There comes a time when we are all called to step outside of ourselves and be of support and service to others. I have found honor and inner peace in offering this to others, today I ask this of you. I am writing you because you are a special lady that has been a meaningful part of my life and I consider you one of my angels. As you know, I am not one to ask much for myself and it humbles me to ask for your help now. The help is not directly for me, but it will mean the world to me if you could help.
I am on a "Do it for Deb" campaign! My dear friend, Deb, is grappling with all of the challenges and fear that comes with the battle of ovarian cancer. She is certainly a hero to me. She, many years ago, believed in me and supported me even when I did not believe in myself. For that gift I will forever be grateful and endeared to her. I saw her last night and she had the face of an angel, the courage of a lion and the spirit of all that is wondrous and fabulous in this life. She is exemplifying strength that inspires me in the light of her battle. I am praying that I may be able to inspire you.
Please join me to show her she is NOT alone, that she can get through this and thrive. I am asking if you may take a few short moments of your time and send me a card in the mail that I can pass along to Deb--Send it to:
"Deb"
c/o Kat Perry
200 Brighton Hill Road
Minot, Maine 04258
Join the "Do it for Deb" campaign and support this amazing lady on her path. Thank you in advance for your words of wisdom and inspiration and your cards that will inevitably offer an embrace to her spirit. Time if of the essence, so act today. Also, if you know of angels that have touched your life who could send along support and words of wisdom to Deb invite them to join the "Do it for Deb" campaign and I welcome their cards...together we can all make a difference!
With love, light & hugs,Miss Kat

Rockin' Birthday Star - IC163
Here is my card for today's SCS Inspiration Challenge (IC163). Here is the room that inspired me: http://www.pbteen.com/gift/thm/thmlng/thmlngrck/index.cfm
Needed to make a birthday card for my ds...he'll be 33 yo, but he's still a boy at heart, and has always loved playing the guitar and rock music, so I think he'll like this.
The "u rock" panel is created on my Scrapbook Deluxe program on my computer, and the music is a new background stamp that I just got. The star, which is popped up on dimensionals, is something I stamped and cut out a while back and wound up not using. I love the way it all came together. tfl

Valentine Postcard LSC203
Here's my entry for today's SCS Limited Supply Challenge (LSC203). We were to make a postcard type valentine that could be easily made in batches of 30 or so for the children to take to school, and only use red, pink, white or black. I used a lace doily for the corner, stamped the heart on a paint chip, heat embossed and cut out, outlined with a red metallic marker, popped that up with foam squares, and tied a ribbon piece on the heart-shaped paper clip. Added a few rhinestones, and voila!! Instant valentine! If you did this assembly-line fashion, would be pretty quick and easy to make 30. tfl

Angel Fish Card Box CC201
Here's another entry for today's SCS color challenge (CC201). I made this little card box to put a set of cards in...they'll be the same design as on the cover. Found the design for the box here: http://capadiadesigns.blogspot.com/2009/01/step-by-step-guide-to-making-note-card.html This lady does great work, and is so kind to share with all of us! Love these little boxes, and they are very easy to do! No stamping. The little tag came off from a purse that I bought last summer.tfl

Marines Card for WT200
Thursday, I did this card for SCS WT200 challenge, which was to use stars in our creation. It was a very busy day, so I'm just getting around to uploading here. My dh's son, Mike, is in the Marines, so this will be for him. We are so proud of him, but at the same time, apprehensive, of course, as he will be deployed soon to Afghanistan, we believe. He's in CA right now training. Please keep him and all of our loved ones who are protecting or country in your thoughts and prayers. tfl

Good Friends- Good Shoes FS100
Here is my entry for SCS Featured Stamper Challenge (FS100). The card I cased is here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...amp;ppuser=362
I changed the layout from landscape to portrait, used a different stamp, and weaved ribbon on the side of my scalloped base card that I cut with my cricut, using cricut design studio. I also cuttlebugged the edge.
I photographed it next to a framed pic that my sister, Kat, sent me for Christmas. I think they go great together, don't you? tfl

Sweet Beauty, IC161
Here is my entry for SCS IC161 - inspired from the "Guilded Quilt" cake on page 1 of this site: http://cakenouveau.com/cakes.html. It's also for Gina K's challenge today, which is to use a non-standard size. This card is 5X6 1/2.
I scored the 3rd layer and used gold paint pen for the dots. Also outlined image and both close to cocoa layers with the gold. Doesn't show up that well in the picture, but is very pretty in real life. Then I used my favorite sheer gold ribbon with brown satin for the ribbon and bow. tfl
