New Year's Eve 2008 Dragon

Here is my entry for 3 challenges at SCS for New Year's Eve 2008.

SCSNYE03 "bling" - used glitter and rhinestone and gold paint pen;

SCSNYE05 "new" - used new Far East paper that was just recently purchased;

SCSNYE06 "Eastern/Asian theme" - Far East paper

It's kinda hard to find a good place to photograph a card at night...so, it's prettier in real life. tfl

Renaissance Romance SC209

I just love sketch challenges!!! They give you inspiration without restricting you to certain colors, products, etc! I've been wanting to use this image ever since I got it, but it just never seemed to fit the other challenges. This is actually the style of cards I started out with, but was using computer-generated images of vintage ladies. I just got worried about copyright issues, so have stayed away...so glad I found this stamp (thanks to Dara)! Also am using this for Gina K's challenge today (GINAKDEC31) to use sewing...she says just sewing a button on counts (Phew!! Used to make quilts, my own clothes, etc...burned myself out on sewing!!) lol Hope you like it. tfl

Black and White Pumped

Here is a card I made for a challenge GINAKDEC30 from "A Day In the Life" (Gina K). I love black and white cards, and just bought a black and white paper stack the other day, so was itching to use it!! I also love this My Favorite Things stamp set and hadn't used it yet either, so...just couldn't resist. Hope you like it. tfl

Far East Note, CC199

Here is my entry for today's SCS Color Challenge CC199. The gold dp I used looks like Saffron, but it doesn't show up all that well in the pic, so...I didn't cheat...lol. I do love the way this came out. Love these papers! And our orchids are in full bloom right now...aren't they beautiful??!!

Fun Funky Fold Card, TLC201

Here's a card I made today for SCS TLC201. The top pic is the card opened. Took me most of the day...sometimes the creative process just takes so many twists and turns that it takes forever...and it doesn't help when you've let your supplies become a jumbled mess...gonna clean up my craft room tonight!!! Anyway, here it is...tfl.

Thank You Butterfly

Here's my entry for today's FS99 challenge at SCS...casing this card by Barbara (Stampfilled Dreams): http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...p;ppuser=13584

I kept the basic layout, but used a different butterly image, gold layer instead of black, cuttlebugged the background, and skewed the purple layer. Raised the top two panels on dimensionals. Also used a paper clip ribbon thingie instead of the tab and tag. tfl

IC160, Anniversary Gold

Wow! McKenzie-Childs has so much to inspire! But...I am trying to make cards that I actually need as much as possible in the challenges...and what I needed next was another anniversary card...so...here's what I chose for my inspiration: http://www.mackenzie-childs.com/productmoreinformation.aspx?mode=1&id=12562There is no stamping on this card. I came across these gold heart stickers last night when I was looking for stickers to put on my 2009 calendar. Thought they'd look great with the gold, white and black. tfl

Christmas Love 2008

Well, it's Christmas Eve and I've made cards for everyone except my dear husband, so, since I haven't been able to do all the challenges lately, and I love the sketch challenges, thought I'd use today's sketch challenge (SC208), at Splitcoaststampers, to do a card for my Honey. He is so supportive of my papercrafting addiction, and, of all the people I create cards for, he's probably the only one who will notice all the techniques I used. I stamped, heat embossed, cuttlebugged, and used dimensionals, and on the inside, computer-generated the rest of the sentiment, so that the whole sentiment goes..."Dreams really do come true."..(outside), and "For Christmas I got you.I love you, Honey"..(inside) . I show him every card I make (whether he wants to see it or not...lol), so he's able to pick out the details pretty well. tfl and Happy Holidays!

Here's the card I did for Francesca's family. It also is for today's SCS inspiration challenge - IC159. tfl

Thanks. I'll be back later with a picture of mine.

Gift tin

Sorry about the sideways image...don't know why sometimes they come over that way, and I can't figure out how to fix it. Funny thing is, the original was not taken that way, and I certainly didn't change it on my original! Oh well...guess we can all exercise our necks!! lol
Here is a gift tin that I decorated for today's SCS Ways to Use It Challenge #197, a last-minute gift, trying to keep it simple and quick. Well, with me, anytime I'm designing something from my own head, it's never quick. lol Now, if I make another, which I do need to, it will be quick and simple. This is going to hold some earrings that I will make. Speaking of which...better get to it!!! tfl

Snowman Dreams

Sabrina (Cook 22) sent me these cute little snowman images...Thanks, Sabrina!! I just love this little guy! Being from Maine, I can just imagine him and his little birdie friend wishing they were here in FL with me where it's nice and warm...supposed to be about 80 today, and I am lovin' it!! Although the snow may be beautiful, the cold I do not miss at all!!! I'm gonna send this to my sister to try to persuade her to come down and visit me!! lol ... tfl

Gingko Blues CC197

While waiting for this morning's color challenge at SCS, I stumbled across Susie B's gallery (which a person could get lost in for a long time!!) and decided I wanted to case this card: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1092209 What a great gallery!! I also wanted to use a paint chip that I got at Home Depot the other day.
So...here's my take on it with today's color challenge, which is Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kisses, Basic Gray, and (optional, if you dare!!!) Not Quite Navy...so, of course, I had to include the Navy!!! I used kiwi kiss SU ribbon that was given to me by Silke Ledlow. Thanks, Silke!! Anyway, it was fun and hope you enjoy. tfl

It's Your Day, LSC198

Here's my entry for SCS LSC198. We were to reuse and recycle. I used the pink and white striped background that these stamps came on for my wallpaper/background. I also used a blank card from a box of store-bought cards I bought for my card base. I needed to make a card for a spa gift bag I put together, so here it is. And I finally got some dew drops that I just love...and these worked too. tfl

Happy Birthday Doggie WT196

Here's my card for today's fun Ways to Use It challenge, WT196 at Splitcoaststampers. We were to use half of a stamp in our design. I used a flower pot w/flower stamp and used the pot part for a hat for my little birthday doggie. Isn't he cute??!! tfl

Anniversary in the Islands CC196

Well, I had started the components in Design Studio for my Cricut for this card last night, as I needed an anniversary card for my sister. This morning I found out she is going to Antigua for her anniversary, hence the cuttlebugged waves on top. Not necessarily the direction I would have taken originally, but I wanted to follow today's color challenge too, so...but, I do like the way it came out. No stamping on the card, but I did stamp a pretty heart on the envelope. tfl

True Blue Friend Butterfly IC157

This is my entry for today's SCS inspiration challenge inspired by this piece: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=18280372Looking back at my gallery, I seem to be on a blue kick lately...oh well, great color to be stuck on!! lol

I started out trying to ink my script cuttlebug folder to make a black and white script background like in the inspiration piece, but failed miserably...the black script was backwards!!...lol. Sooooo...wound up with this...I like the way it turned out, and I still have the blue and black butterfly!

The sentiment stamp is one I received as winner of blog candy from Silke Ledlow. I had to guess the weight of her 6 month old puppy, Luke, which was 53 pounds!!!! Yikes!! Thanks, Silke!! tfl

Thinking of You Dandelions

I made this card tonight for my husband's co-worker, whose father is in critical condition. He will be taking it to work for everyone to sign and send to the family.

Butterfly Dreams, SC205

Here's my entry for SC205. The idea was to keep it simple since we're all busy for the holidays. I'm glad, because I have been trying to discipline myself to finish up shopping and crafting my Christmas presents, so, between that and Thanksgiving festivities, I haven't been able to keep up with the challenges lately. I know you can all relate to that!! Anyway, I've been itching to do a challenge, and this one fit in just great! Thanks, Roxy!!

Doggie Birthday IC156

I don't know why, but for some reason I can't get this picture to load upright. It's fine on my computer, SCS and everywhere else...anyway, just turn your head to the right...lol. This was done for my nephew's upcoming birthday. They have 2 huge dogs. I think he'll like this. tfl

Christmas Red Bird

Here's a Christmas card I made today. I have my Christmas cards all made, but after wrapping a present, I wanted to create a card to go with the wrapping. So...here it is! The bird is heat embossed, and the leaves are cut from my cricut using Storybook cartridge. tfl

Midnight Owl IC155

Been looking for a chance to use this stamp, and the colors in the dress I chose from the inspiration challenge here: http://blogs.amctv.com/mad_men_season_2_fashions_womenswear/season-2-fashion-joan-2.php seemed perfect...so here it is...tfl

Chocolate Therapy LSC195

This is my entry for LSC195 to use a chocolate theme. I had come across this box of chocolates in my die-cuts yesterday, so thought it would work perfectly for today's card. My gel pen gave me trouble when I did the doodles, so they're not as neat as I'd like...but hey, it's obviously homemade!!...lol...tfl

Pearly Thanks WT193

Perfect timing on this challenge to use pearls...I just received my pearlized watercolors in the mail the other day and hadn't had a chance to use them yet. This was a fun card to make. tfl

Wintery Medallion, SC203 and TLC195

Love this sketch! Had a plan, but it got pushed aside when I discovered a piece of snowflake cuttlebugged cardstock left over from another project...thought that would look great in a medallion, and the idea "snowballed" from there...hehe. tfl

Strawberry Sweetness CC193

I love this color combination...CC193 (real red, basic black, kraft). I immediately thought of this great strawberry print and red plaid paper I've been dying to use for something. And the little red bird seemed perfect, thinking how sweet those ripe red berries would taste!! mmm...now I want strawberry shortcake!!! tfl

Autumn Thank You, IC154

Here is my entry for IC 154, inspired by this scarf: http://www.feltedgarden.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=20&products_id=50The hearts and sentiment thingie are cut with my Cricut. There are lots of popped up layers, and the outlining that looks white in the picture is actually metallic gold gel pen...looks much prettier in real life. tfl

Oriental Thank You WT192

This is my entry for WT192 to use water color paper. It was truly inspired...When I went to the mailbox this morning, just after I read the challenge for today, there was a package there from my sister, Mary Ann, who lives in MD. It was a watercolor sketchbook set, with a lovely card and note. So...for the challenge, I made her this thank you card. She loves paintings of beautiful ladies as much as I do, so I think she'll like this. tfl

SC202, Christmas Cardinal

Here's my entry for SC202...I love the sketch, but not completely happy with the end result...had a hard time with the heat embossing...one of these days I'll master that if it kills me!! tfl

LSC193, One of a Kind

Here's my entry for LSC193, to use a circle and a rectangle and ribbon only for embellishment. Oops, just realized that stickles might count as embellishment, sorry. I'll be MIA for a few days. Nov. 11th is our anniversary, and we are leaving for Sanibel Island tomorrow for a long weekend. Home Monday, may be able to squeeze a card in during Monday night football...hehe. Hope you all have a nice weekend and fun stampin'! tfl

Thanks a Bunch WT191

Here's my card for today's challenge WT191, to use corner punches. I don't have many corner punches, so I used my corner rounder, and a 3-in-1. Kept the card simple today, as I have 4 birthdays and an anniversary this month...YIKES! Actually, I have all the cards made, but have to tear myself away from here long enough to go do some shopping and get things ready for mailing out!! tfl

Joel's BD Card...hope he doesn't check my blog he he

Medallion Drama

Today's challenge at SCS was to use a new technique called "Corner-Punch-Medallion. Well, I didn't have a single corner punch to make my medallion with, so I had to cheat and create one in Cricut Design Studio. The label was also made in CDS. Both the medallion and the label are popped up with dimensionals. tfl
