Butterflies & Flowers

Amy came over today and we made two cards. The top one I made is for today's SCS Ways to Use It Challenge - WT268 - to use chipboard. The little buttons in the corners are chipboard. The butterfly is a sticker that Amy gave me (Thanks, Amy!), backed with the reverse side of the core'dinations cs that I used for the cuttlebugged and sanded background panel. Stickles on his body and antennae.
The second card is made using the "Black Magic" technique. I heat embossed the white flower which was stamped on black cs, and then using a cotton ball, rubbed chalks over it. The top bg panel is more core'dinations cs, cuttlebugged and sanded. I just love that stuff, don't you??!! tfl

You Done Doggone Good SC278

I needed to make a card for our nephew for graduation. He has a bulldog, and while sorting through my wallpaper samples the other day, I found this great assortment. The bulldog was on a border with a bunch of other dogs. I cut him out and scanned him to size. The denim background and squares were also from the same wallpaper line. I put eyelets in the center of the rivets and stamped the "congrats" stamp , bordered it and set the dog, who is on pop-up on it, like it's a box. When I told my husband that I was going to use the dog on Tony's card, he suggested a sentiment for the inside: "You done doggone good!"...hehe...so, what's what's on the inside, on tea-stained paper that I made by sponging tea-stain distress ink on white. This was fun to make, although it took forever with the scanning, etc. Time that I should be spending packing...lol. tfl

Beach Vacation CC268 MMSC51

This card is for 2 challenges:
1. Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge - MMSC51 - found here: http://priscillastyles.blogspot.com/2010/04/midnight-madness-sketch-challenge-51.html; and
2. Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge - C268 - found here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=489160.
The main image is from Sassy Studio Designs. The tropical cocktail stamp is from Michael's dollar bin. I used glossy accents on the drinks, a piece of wallpaper sample table of contents page for the blue/green background she's laying on, and a part of a cocktail umbrella for her beach umbrella. This was a fun card to make, and makes me happy to look at it. Hopefully it will you too! tfl

Lighthouse Birthday MMSC50 CC267

This birthday card is for 2 challenges:
1. Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge - MMSC50 - found here: http://priscillastyles.blogspot.com/2010/04/midnight-madness-sketch-challenge-50.html; and
2. Splitcoaststampers' Color Challenge - CC267 (basic gray, apricot appeal, sage shadow and neutrals) - found here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=488289.
There are digital and rubber-stamped images. The cuttlebugged panel is sage shadow, but I sprayed it with shimmer mist, which turned it kinda turquoise, which I didn't really mean to do, but it did turn out pretty, at least in mho. lol tfl

Beachy Smiles & Flower Trio TLC269 - CAS63

The top card is for Splitcoaststampers Technique Lovers Challenge - TLC269 - to use piercing. I used a digital image and cut it out with "postage stamp" scissors. Pierced 2 corners and added a flower that I had made with alcohol ink resist.
The second card is for SCS Clean and Simple Challenge - CAS63, which is a sketch challenge inspired by Alanna. This one's pretty self-explanatory. tfl

Jewels by Val

It was just such a beautiful day today that I could NOT stay inside and make cards, so decided I'd make some earrings to go with some new dresses I got. I can do that out on the patio. The weather here in Florida is at its very best right now...after the cold, before the humidity, so I have to be out there and enjoying it while I can. I love these crystals! Now a couple of bracelets are in order! Don't worry...I'll get back to cards, just taking a little break. tfl

Stars and Stripes Birthday for Craig SC275

This card is for my oldest son's birthday. I used the sketch challenge from Splitcoaststampers - SC275. All the paper, except for the base, which is SU night of navy, is recycled wallpaper samples. I love the way they coordinate, and this sketch seemed perfect for coordinated prints! tfl

Happiness MMSC48 CC265

This card is for 2 challenges:
1. Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge - MMSC48 - found here: http://www.priscillastyles.blogspot.com/; and
2. Splitcoaststampers' Color Challenge - CC265 - found here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=486459.
The main image and the Happiness symbol are both digital. I printed them, then used my Versamark pen and clear embossing powder to emboss them. Sprayed over the embossed images with turquoise shimmer mist, although it doesn't show up that well in the photo. IRL it's very pretty. Cuttlebugged the other panels, added some gold cording, stamped the little coins on the soft suede paper and heat embossed with detail gold powder and cut them out and mounted them on little pop dots. Cut butterfly with embosslits and wrapped gold cording around for body and antennae. Used my gold paint pen around the edges, and here you go.

Hummingbird Easter for DH F4A6

This is a card I had already started for my dh for Easter. He LOVES hummingbirds and roses. He grew up here in Florida, and says there are no hummingbirds (although I know better...lol) and roses are not the easiest thing to grow here. He is retiring the end of July and we're moving to California in the fall. We visited the area of Diamond Springs which is about an hour from Sacramento, last year, and when we were there there were beautiful roses everywhere! And we know that hummingbirds love the place too! The pic of me beside the roses was taken there. We're going back out next month to look at the property again and do a little more extensive research...so thought little card/mini album, which is today's challenge at SCS found here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=486055 ,would be perfect for him for Easter. My hummingbird image on the cover is stamped, then colored with watercolor pencils and blended with my aqua-painter. tfl
